Note: If your VCR only requires the input of the last two digits of the year when the date is being programmed, your VCR is not Y2K compliant. A simple solution to this problem, referring to the table above, is to reprogram the year digits by reprogramming the date on 31-Dec-99 to 31-Dec-71. The reason for using 31-Dec-71 can be seen in the table above - the years 1971-1998 (indices 6 ... 5) use the same calendar sequence as the years 1999-2026 (indices 6 ... 5). 1972 and 2000 both use calendar 14 which is why this sequence is chosen.
